Upcoming concerts!

Well, it's been a busy season with lots of exams to prepare for and lots of instrumentalists to look after, too! Best of luck to everybody taking ABRSM/Trinity exams this time around!

I've currently been very busy rehearsing with my flautist for an upcoming concert at Manchester Cathedral on Saturday 5th April. Tickets for this event are FREE, although there will be a retiring collection for the Cathedral. Repertoire to include Bach's B minor Sonata and Schubert's Trockne Blumen variations.

Also keep your eyes peeled for the Chorlton Arts Festival programs, as we will be appearing on the 27th May for a lunchtime concert at St Werburgh's Church, to perform Prokofiev's Sonata for flute and piano. These both promise to be great events, and we would love to see you there!

Oops...! Hello again!

What a long time has passed since I last did a blog update!

Things have been really busy at JPM, including a big premises move in September and the acquisition of a nice shiny new car! On top of this, a lovely new post as piano teacher at Bacup&Rawtenstall Grammar School has taken up much of my time lately!

The most exciting and recent news is that my duo partner (flautist Rachel Johnson) and I will be performing in the Bridgewater Hall's "Introducing" series this December, which is certainly keeping us busy.

Pupils are busy preparing for winter exams and concerts, although the break will be upon us before we know it, I'm sure.

Here's hoping it isn't quite so long before my next blog update...keep practising!

Congratulations to ABRSM exam pupils!

Congratulations to all pupils who have recently received ABRSM results. Good marks and smiley faces all around, I have been made incredibly proud again!

It has been another busy month for JPM, with increased lesson uptake and some scheduling changes. I'm excited to announce that I'll be taking up the piano teacher post at Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School from September, and with some shuffling I am able to offer further private slots at an extra discounted rate than advertised to adults and uni students who can take lessons before 3pm on a Monday or Tuesday. Use the contact form if you would like more details on booking a slot!

Music at the Williamson Gallery, and some Shostakovich!

Last Sunday I was lucky enough to perform at the beautiful Williamson Gallery in Wirral once again. Despite the windy weather and slightly chaotic refurbishment, it was a pleasure to perform and it was lovely to see such a great turnout, with more chairs having to be inserted!

This weekend sees a pupil concert taking place on Saturday night in Ramsbottom, and a performance of Shostakovich Jazz Suites at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Sunday.

I am also excited to be making my debut at the Buxton Fringe Festival with my new duo partner, flautist Rachel Johnson on the 9th July. The concert begins at 2pm, at Buxton Methodist Church, with tickets available on the door for £5 each.

Keep your eyes peeled for some more interesting blog updates soon...finding time to squeeze everything in this month has certainly kept me on my toes!
